Dear Career Mark members,
Welcome to the final Complete-Careers/Career Mark Newsletter of the academic year. Enjoy your Summer Break you deserve it! 😊
You have not heard from us for a while as it has been very busy. Complete Careers/Career Mark is now also delivering a bespoke Career Development Apprenticeship in partnership with Priory Federation of Academies with a focus on working in learning organisations and achieving the Quality in Careers Standard. All the Federation academies are either working towards or already hold the national Quality in Careers Standard like other MATS we work with including OAT and GAT.
Working towards or maintaining the Quality in Careers Standard can sometimes feel like an added pressure to supporting young people to make well informed realistic decisions about their future and going on to the destinations of their choice, but we passionately believe that it is a crucial opportunity to have external scrutiny and be part of a supportive process which promotes the development of your careers offer.
Congratulations to all organisations that have achieved or retained the standard since Easter. Over 20 assessments have been conducted and 25% of those are new Standard holders. Well done to new and to those gaining Platinum, Gold or maintaining the Standard for the first time.
We look forward to more assessments in the new academic year and already have some booked in.
HAVE YOUR SAY Support the CURRENT ROLE OF THE QUALITY IN CAREERS STANDARD
Complete by 25th July (it doesn’t take very long.)
As part of strengthening the Statutory duty and to ensure the Government and CEC continue to recognise the importance of the Quality in Careers Standard, we would highly recommend you respond to the consultation below mentioning the Quality in Careers Standard (ideally using the Career Mark approach) as a way to evidence that your career programme is good and is meeting/working towards the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Consultation Survey Links the links below take you firstly to the overview or the second link takes you straight to the Survey.

Following a recent assessment, the Careers Leader emailed; “I have decided to train some of the students from each year group to be Careers Ambassadors as they all seemed so enthusiastic after their meetings on the assessment day.”
Career Mark updates:
Transition to Career Mark 8
After feedback we have modified revalidation paperwork to closely mirror the first assessment. This means that you can use your original grids, update and adapt them to describe how your provision has changed. Check our website for recorded webinars to support you with this. From September 2022 we expect all schools to be completing CM8 documentation, and If you want some support with the changeover, please make contact at admin@complete-careers.com and one of our Career Mark Champions will support you.
Not sure where to begin with the revalidation process?
Some schools have had a change in staff or feel a bit concerned about how your CEIAG provision has been impacted in the last two years. If you wish to have some more support, please contact us and one of our Career Mark Champions will get back to you for a chat about your provision and revalidation. admin@complete-careers.com
Career Mark Primary Award
The Career Mark Primary award is developing and the number of Primary Schools engaging with and recognising good practice in careers is growing as is the Government interest. The first award was achieved in 2017, we now have over 20 primary schools that have achieved the award and as many working towards it. If you know of a Primary School which engages actively with careers through enterprise activities, linking with local employers or who have a good focus on self-awareness, then please do pass the message on. Career Mark Primary is an effective way for them to get feedback and recognition for what they currently do and access support from careers professionals about how to develop their provision. www.complete-careers.com/career-mark/about-us
