Career Inspiration Community Project

We have identified Theddlethorpe (and surrounding areas) as a region we would like to explore to seek funding to provide career development services for residents of all ages.  There is no cost to the community for any stage of this project.

Our organisation has a national reputation for excellence in helping people to reach their career potential.  We support individuals of all ages and work with primary schools, secondary schools and academies and broader education providers throughout the country.

The aim of the project is to raise career aspirations and support individuals to reach their potential through creation of a suite of bespoke resources, support services and training for residents directly, as well as the community organisations (e.g. schools) that serve them.

We would like to provide dedicated support in the area over the next 3-5 years in the following stages:

Primary careers

It is now clear that career development needs to start early, at primary age.  Research has shown how early intervention can have a big impact on aspirations, challenging stereotypes and social mobility while values are at the formative stage.  We would like to hear from local primary age learners, parents and schools to find out what they think about the future and support needs.

Secondary careers

Secondary aged learners will travel for their schooling to Alford, Skegness, Spilsby and Louth.  Careers education and guidance is a statutory requirement for secondary schools to provide, but some schools are much better equipped than others.  We want to hear from secondary aged learners as well as parents about the services they need to help unlock their future.  We will also be engaging with the local schools too.

Community careers

We want to hear from adults living in the area to find out thoughts on the career opportunities and challenges they face.  We want to hear from people who are already working, those who are looking for work, as well as long-term unemployed adults.
