Brandesburton Primary School embarked on a journey to achieve Career Mark Primary as part of an East Riding of Yorkshire project which commenced in September 2019. The project is designed to support schools to introduce careers to the curriculum at primary level to inspire the future generations, along with their parents and the broader community. The impact has been dramatic with a teacher at the school reporting that ‘careers education is promoting the skills and knowledge to address real life experiences allowing for learning at a greater depth’. A year 6 pupil stated ‘I didn’t realise you needed maths for so many jobs’. See here for a short video clip of all the inspirational careers activities now taking place at Brandesburton Primary School.
