The Department for Education (DfE) have stated their intention to update statutory guidance for schools and colleges on careers this ‘spring’, though a delay may be likely! The timing of our conference should be close to the publication and we hope to be able to help you prepare for change. Key national stakeholders are working closely with DfE on the proposed changes for September 2025 and you will hear from some of them directly at this conference. 

Many of us are now familiar with the Gatsby Foundation’s ‘Good Careers Guidance: the Next 10 Years’ report (see here for our summary and commentary: https://complete-careers.com/good-career-guidance-the-next-10-years/). The conference will review these changes along with what we already expect in the new statutory guidance.  We will explore the wider context of careers in policy to include the January 25 statutory guidance on NEET and school and college use of RONI, the ‘Get Britain Working’ and Devolution white papers, the draft national curriculum review and Ofsted changes. 

The conference will consider recent career related research, policy and practice with a focus on what career leaders and practitioners can do to keep pace whilst supporting their learners to consider implications for their future.

This conference is aimed at careers leaders/career professionals working in education and speakers will help attendees to make sense of priorities in the context of their careers programme, the profession and most importantly, the learners.
