Career Mark Primary Award is dedicated to supporting, developing and accrediting primary schools to deliver a high quality careers program to their pupils.
There is evidence to show that primary careers work raises aspirations, breaks down stereotypes and improves transitions. Starting early enables these outcomes better than focusing on secondary.

Primary Career Mark uses five components:
Impact; Management; Curriculum, Staff Training and Pupil Outcome. Each of the Components has a number of performance indicators and schools must provide a narrative and evidence against each of the assessment indicators using the Career Mark Primary templates.

Step 1. The Quiz
A good starting point is to complete the quiz produced by the CEC. It will help you to understand what’s involved, where you are at the moment, and what you need to do. Follow this link: School self-assessment quiz | Primary Platform
Step 2. Membership
If you decide to move forward with the award you can sign up for membership (Sign up) which will allow you to access the relevant paperwork, outlining the standards.
Step 3: Action
You may wish to develop your provision further based on the standards.
Step 4: Assessment
There are two stages to the assessment process:
Step 5: Award
Following the assessment you will receive notification that you have achieved Career Mark Primary. Your award lasts for two years.
Step 6: Reaccreditation
Our reaccreditation process has been designed to complement your first assessment providing a continuous cycle of improvement and development.
CAREER MARK PRIMARY AWARD CHARGES/DISCOUNTS
First assessment – £892.50 + VAT.
We invoice half the overall cost at registration and the second half at the point of requesting an assessment.
You may be able to access financial support for Career Mark via your local authority, contact us to find out more.
Reaccreditation
The cost of a reaccreditation assessment is £892.50 + VAT.
Consultancy
Members often find a small amount of consultancy beneficial to get them started and for reviewing portfolios before submission, contact us for more information. admin@complete-careers.com. Costs begin at £275+VAT for half a day.
Group Discount
For groups of schools who wish to work towards the award accreditation at the same time, we can offer a discount, this can be discussed with the Career Mark Manager.
