Complete-Careers launches its YouTube channel with the show Crazy Careers

In response to COVID-19 Complete-Careers is producing a series of careers shows that will be aired weekly on its YouTube Channel.

The show, ‘Crazy Careers’ will be free for all schools, students and parents to access.

An accompanying free lesson plan for each show will be made available.

Delicious Jobs

  • ‘Crazy Careers’ is designed to support career education delivery in KS1, KS2 and KS3 (as appropriate).
  • It can be accessed by students and their parents/carers in their homes.
  • The humorous show is similar in style to Horrible Histories and has facts a kin to Deadly 60.
  • Lasting approximately 5 minutes they introduce students to different jobs e.g. maggot farmer, dog food taster and beautician.
  • The accompanying lesson for teachers helps students to develop their career exploration skills.
  • The resources support schools by contributing to meeting Gatsby benchmarks, Ofsted requirements and the CDI framework.

The show’s creator, Mark Wilkinson said:

‘It’s never been more important for young people to dream about their futures and stay optimistic. Crazy Careers is our response to help them laugh, smile and aspire.’

‘Crazy Careers is a DIY show, made on a phone! Given the limitations we are living in its fantastic that technology means we can create one show a week and share it with so many people.’

Compete-Careers Strategic Director and co-author of The Bonkers Book of Jobs (on which the idea of the show came from) said:

‘The shows and the lesson plans will help young people explore the world of work.’

‘If schools email in their most unusual job then each week we’ll give a copy of The Bonkers Book of Jobs away free to the student that makes the best suggestion’.
