'Introducing Career Related Learning in Primary Schools'

15th November 2022

Conference Theme:

What is career learning in primary schools really about?

Raising Aspirations, broadening horizons and removing barriers for your learners

The Careers and Enterprise Company offers this overarching definition:
‘Career related learning in primary schools is about broadening pupils’ horizons, challenging stereotypes and helping them develop the skills and sense of self that will enable them to reach their full potential.’

Career related learning in primary education is growing and in recognition of this and our increased contact with primary schools across the country, we feel it is the right time to run our first primary focussed conference.

What will I learn about if I attend the conference?

  • ‘Career Development Framework and Handbook for Primary Schools’ April 2021 developed by the Careers Development Institute.
  • Current developments in primary careers related learning provided by the
    Careers and Enterprise Company.
  • A range of appropriate primary resources to support your programme and
    where to access them.
  • The Complete-Careers ‘Career Mark Primary Award’, including the process to
achieve the award and good practice shared by schools who have already
    achieved the Award.

The conference will help identify potential areas for development in your curriculum and help you understand the relevance of career learning from early years onwards.
This free conference will run remotely through Zoom, a user-friendly, effective platform, with opportunities for interaction and to post questions to all speakers as well as regular screen breaks.
